This project was an existing one story ranch with detached garage, c. 1960. The client request was initially for additional bedrooms including a master bedroom suite, enlarged kitchen, dining room and living room.
After reviewing the existing dated design and built-in obsolescence our suggested solution was the removal of a breezeway between the house and garage. This resulted in new construction that included the initial requirements plus a two story entry with balcony, high ceiling living room with window wall and open rail stair to a new second floor with a loft/office overlooking the living room below and a view of the mountains beyond. Additional landscaping and bluestone patio completed the exterior.
